Bat Bark

Since it’s acceptable to eat chocolate every day during spooky season (it is acceptable, right??), we’ve gone and made a Halloween version of our white chocolate bark. Made with plant-based food color (no artificial colors here!) and the cutest bat molds (linked in stories and on the recipe page on our website), these are cleaner treats I’m happy to give my kids that beat out any Hersheys bar in taste and ingredients.

Utensils Used
Ingredients
1 (12 oz) bag mini white chocolate chips
6oz semi-sweet chocolate for chocolate bat molds
1 tsp coconut oil plus 1/2 tsp coconut oil for chocolate molds
Bat Molds
1

Melt your 6oz semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/2 tsp coconut oil together and stir until smooth (you can either do this on the stovetop or in the microwave). Once melted, add into the bat molds and spread flat to get rid of any excess chocolate. Freeze for 1+ hour.

2

Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.

3

Melt your white chocolate chips and coconut oil together and stir until smooth (you can either do this on the stovetop or in the microwave).

4

Once melted, pour about 2 tbsp in one bowl and 2 tbsp in another bowl. Set aside.

5

Pour the remaining melted chocolate onto the parchment paper and spread around so it lays flat and even.

6

In one bowl, add 3-4 drops of orange food color and mix.

7

In the another bowl, add purple food color and mix.

8

Using a spoon, add 5 vertical lines of colored chocolate in a pattern (we did orange, purple, orange, repeat).

9

Using a bamboo skewer, swirl the colors together in a figure 8 motion.

10

Decorate with your previously made chocolate bats and orange/purple sprinkles. Dip your bamboo skewer into the white chocolate and give your bats white eyes!

11

Freeze for 2+ hours. Once the chocolate has solidified, break it apart, and enjoy!
