Bookmark this page for the easiest no-bake July 4th recipe!! Takes just a few minutes, the base is fruit, and my kids LOVED that they could decorate these themselves.
Take an apple slice and make a slit in the bottom with a paring knife. Slide a popsicle stick inside.
Mix the chocolate and coconut oil together and melt.
Using a spoon, spread the chocolate on top of the apple slice. Quickly decorate with blueberries and raspberries to make a flag effect. The chocolate will harden quickly and "glue" the berries to the apple. You can either enjoy right away or pop in the fridge for the chocolate to harden more quickly. Enjoy!

I ow do you keep the apples from browning
Hi! In general when sending apples to school, you can add a bit of citrus to the apple (ie, lemon juice, orange juice), but we honestly haven’t done that in a while since my kids don’t ask for it anymore. These apples are meant to be eaten same day or at most a day later, so they shouldn’t brown. The chocolate coating will also help prevent that from happening too soon.
