Need a last minute Halloween themed snack idea? These witch’s broomsticks take a few minutes to assemble and use simple ingredients — just mozzarella string cheese, pretzel sticks and chives.

Cut each string cheese into thirds, then use kitchen scissors to fringe one end into bristles, leaving the top inch uncut. That uncut band is where the chive ties on. Push the pretzel in gently: press too hard and the cheese splits right down the middle, which is the only way this one goes wrong.

1

Take a mozzarella string cheese and cut it into thirds.

2

Use kitchen food scissors to cut the fringes for the broom, leaving some space on top that isn’t cut.

3

Tie the chive around the top part of the cheese that hasn’t been fringed. Cut off the remaining long ends of the chive once tied.

4

Stick a pretzel stick gently into the top of the cheese. Make sure not to push too hard or the cheese will split open. Enjoy!
