Chanukah Gifts for Kids

Chanukah gift guide flat lay with menorah pajamas, a paint your own dreidel kit, gelt, dreidel socks and a Hanukkah sticker pad

99 Chanukah gifts for kids — pajamas, dreidel crafts, board games, travel menorahs and the blue-and-white nail polish I wear every year.

Chanukah 2026 starts the evening of Friday, December 4, and the Judaica sells out every year by the end of November. Not the toys and not the games — those you can get any time. The menorahs, the dreidel crafts, the pajamas in the size you actually need: those go, and then you are paying for expedited shipping on the wrong color.

So this is the list I shop from early. Most of it is what we already own — the menorahs on our own table, the games that come out every year, the travel tin that lives in the back of the car. It is grouped by what you are actually looking for, with a line on each one saying why it is here rather than something else.

If you are doing one big gift

One real present instead of eight small ones is a completely legitimate way to do Chanukah, and it is what we have landed on most years. These are also the only things on this list that go on sale — by December they are back to full price.

Pajamas and something cozy

The thing they will actually wear eight nights running. Sizes go first, so this is the one category worth buying before December.

Small things for the first night

Chanukah is eight nights, and not all of them need to be a real present. These are the ones that fill a night without anyone feeling short-changed.

Crafts, books and quiet activities

Small enough to pack

Menorahs and candles for the house

One for you, one they can light themselves, and one for the toddler who just wants to be holding something. The themed ones are the gift, not the hardware.

Decorating without committing to it

Peel and stick, off again in January, and the kids rearrange them nightly.

Blue and white nails

Not a gift for the kids, but it is the one thing I do for myself every year. Zoya is what I use because it wears well through a week of frying.

When to buy what

If you only do one pass at this, do it now and buy in this order: pajamas first, because sizes sell out and nothing else on this list does; then the menorah, if you need a travel one or the kids have outgrown the foam one; then the craft kits, which need to arrive with enough runway that you are not doing them on night seven. Board games keep. Nail polish keeps. Decorations keep. Gelt you will buy twice no matter what I say.
